So sorry you've had a bad quilt day. I'm still working on my points! What's worked the best for me is taking more time measuring each square for the blocks before I sew them. Also, make sure you use a narrow 1/4 inch seam. This allows a little extra room for when you turn the fabric. So for pin wheels blocks you use HS triangles. If your HS is the accurate size (even though you sew them together, oft-times 2 HS blocks will have a little extra room on both sides.) measure after you sew the 2 HS's together. Trim any excess. When you do the bottom 2 HS's line up your point before you sew with your fingers. It helps to grab a needle & sew it in place a couple stitches. Pins can still allow your fabric to move. If your point is in place then sew. Works most of the time for me. Other than that,
you can try Paper-piecing which allows you to get those perfect points. Either way, it takes a little bit of patience. Hope this makes sense. Good luck!
