I just want to mention that there can be a huge difference in quality between new Necchi machines and vintage Necchi machines. The vintage machines were made in Italy, were far ahead of their time, and were workhorses. I don't know where the new Necchis are made but, even if it's Italy, I would wonder about the manufacturing quality. I found 13 reviews of Necchi sewing machines at
http://www.patternreview.com but in running through them it seems as if they are all for vintage machines. That tells me that the Necchi brand probably doesn't sell well anymore in the U.S., possibly for good reason?
