Default New Raymond Treadle

Hello all,

I just finished restoring my New Raymond treadle, so of course, I am now looking for attachments (which I am determined to actually learn how to use!) and a manual. And I'd LOVE to find more bobbins, since I only have ONE.

Yes, I check craigslist and eBay on a daily basis, and I've searched all over the web. I've even started emailing people in Canada who have Raymonds for sale on kijiji to ask them about attachments and such, and begging them to take pictures for me. I'm kind of a pain. *grin*

SO, I thought I'd see what you guys can come up with.

I have another question for those of you who use treadle machines: Do you find a difference in brands for sewing? Are some easier to "get going" than others? I REALLY prefer my Raymond to my Singers, but I'm new to treadles, so I am curious.

How many of you use your attachments?

And another question: With no reverse to backstitch, do you tie a knot, or do you reverse the fabric and backstitch that way? Just curious, as either method will work, and seems to take the same amount of time. Is there any other ways to do it?

Okay, I've pestered you enough! Thanks so much

Julie
