Default This is Why I Learned to Quilt

I've always been crafty and I knew for a very long time that I wanted to learn how to quilt. When I was 20, I started saving fabric for when I learned, planning to someday make a "memory" quilt with all the scraps. I learned when I was 42; I'm 46 now. This is the result of all that saving, plus pieces of every quilt that I have made since I learned. It has a piece of my father's Air Force uniform shirt in it (he died in 1993); it has fabric from a dress my Mum made herself in the 1960s (she died in 2002); it has flannel from my daughter's first "big girl" p.j.'s (she's almost 20 now); and it has a piece of the scarf they tie around my dog's neck whenever he gets groomed at Pet Smart (he's 6 now); I call it "Memory Quilt Number 1" in the hopes that I someday accumulate enough scraps to make another. The pattern I used was Moda's "Charmalade". Thank you for looking!
