Sweet quilt. I'd take out the block with careful cutting and redo with different fabric-- then try appliqueing the block on the completed quilt. The hat or bonnet would be good solution, except that it appears the damage is more widespread --on duck's chest, etc. I've been meaning to try embroidery machine applique. Is this an unusual problem or does it happen often?
