The grand plan is to sew some keepsakes for my grandchildren so they have something made on their great great grandmothers' sewing machine.......thought some nice girlie or blokey cushion covers would be a simple starter project for me and something the children could happily toss on their beds. Would like to progress to more involved items as she has come with a heap of attachments I would like to become proficient with.
That's probably a better way to do it than I did. I threaded my first one up and went to work. I can't begin to tell you how many times it stalled and turned backwards on me. Thread broke over and over again too.
But finally I got the hang of it and now I can sit down at any one of my 5 treadles and make 'em sew.
The first thing I made with a treadle was a circle quilt topper to keep the kitties claws from scarring up the wood any more than it already it. Up close it looks terrible, but it does the job.
