I made the blocks for a GFG in the late 60's, but didn't know how to put them together so they just stayed in a box. Flash forward to 2007 and I must have made a dozen rag quilts with flannel and then decided I needed to update by buying a new sewing machine, - I figured a sewing machine from the 60's might have been improved upon over the years. Took lessons on quilt making beginning, intermediate and advance. Now I just learn from the QB. I have made over one hundred. Thats what happens in retirement. Just wish I had the price of fabric from the 60's rather than todays prices.
