Default First Meandering Attempt

I just finished my second quilt top ever for my sister in law's birthday at the end of the month, and was wanting to try some meandering on the border but thought I should practice on a couple FQs first and this is what I ended up with. Got a little close in some places, and still not super comfortable with how to manage some of the curves, but does it look ok?

I hardly had any loops on the back (second pic) and thought that was really weird for a first attempt... I've read/heard that the back tends to look really iffy the first few tries? Are some of the little antler bits too long? Is it better to keep with shorter stubby curves than long ones? Sigh Thank you!
