update:
I had the opportunity to talk to a veteran who is dealing with PTSD ... and, it got me to thinking about what I was going to do with this scrappy quilt, since I know that a veteran is going to be receiving it ... and, the veteran will probably be from our current war on terror ...
I cut up some of the ant fabric this morning, and then I told hubby ... I can't do it!
I have the privilege of finding a bug on a piece of fabric "entertaining" and interesting, but I don't know that a current military warrior would find them so fun to be laying under ... so!
I started scrambling through my boxes ... and, I didn't find the red that I had intended, but I did find this one and wanted to share it with you.
I put the ant fabric on top, so that you could see the difference in red, and I did audition the fabric against the green to see what would happen ... Lacelady was correct all those weeks ago when she said the ants looked pinky ... well, they are an orangey, pinky red ... and, I don't know that the picture will do the fabric justice, but I will tell you that when I put it next to one of my green strips ... it REALLY popped! ... so, I do believe we are going to like this one! Also, I cut the strips at two inches wide, since I know that I will probably be doing a bit of trimming, and if I want to do the trimming and make it worth my while <g> (translated, having scraps to make the next scrap quilt!) I hope to have a goodly amount of this quilt done by this afternoon.
Ta DAH!
