Love it! It's very masculine and I'm sure it will be greatly loved.
RE binding, I sew mine to the back first, then press and turn it to the front and top stitch. The stitches seem to almost always fall in the ditch on the back, but the front looks perfect every time! Lazy, and not show-worthy, but much easier and quicker than by hand when dealing with something large and cumbersome.
