YES! The auto stitch regulator is way too delicate in general. I had mine replaced once but it went out again shortly after it was replaced, so I have learned to make do without it. I have had mine for several years now. This and a couple of other things makes me wish I had waited and saved more money to buy a more expensive machine in general. I still use my machine but wish I had waited.......
