what did you use for backing? what about batting? i generally either use a cotton batt or another layer of flannel in the center...so 3 layers of flannel really makes it nice & (fluffy/cozy) also i clip pretty close- like 1/8"-1/4"...i don't really measure i just clip, clip, clip- but my clips are pretty close together. i've found (for me) that the wider the seams the less happy i am with it- i use 1/4"-3/8" seams and clip close-then i have a nice, (like chennille-sp) frayed edge- too long & they just get stringy-not fluffy.
