I changed the needle to be sure it was fine, tried size 80, 90... always the same mess! I used a Elna 1 for the parts I could do with, any problem of tht kind. But in the middle, I needed the space given by the Janome arm.

May I ask you if you have tricks !! And excuse my english, i am french.
I'm sorry...I don't know how to help you. My stitching is not always regular but it is all operator error. If it is actually skipping a stitch, just check for a problem in the thread path. I've had to clean out the tension disk area several times. When my thread was breaking regularly (previous quilts), I upped the quality of thread I started to use. I was buying the almost cheapest stuff at the local wholesale place (just over $1 for a large cone of thread) but it was too weak and I kept breaking it so I bought the kind that was more--maybe $4 for a large cone. I have no idea of the brand--nothing famous for sure. it is polyester thread. Otherwise, I use the same settings as you are using. I'm sorry I can't help you. Have you joined the Yahoo groups? They may have some good ideas.
