Nothing a bit wrong with collecting patterns, especially free ones. Maybe one day you'll make them and maybe you won't. Actually no different than collecting recipes, which I love to do too.
I liken it to recipe collecting too! I don't hesitate to download a pattern I like. I have a 1TB hard drive which I back up routinely. I have various sub folders such as Baby Quilts, Toddler Quilts, Lap Quilts, Samplers, Table Toppers, QOV, House Blocks,Wall Hangings, etc. I also "pin" a lot of patterns/pictures I come across to Pinterest so they don't take up any space on my hard drive.
Looking through photos and patterns is half the fun.
