It's a lot easier to make the dresden plate with the circle in the center, than this block, with all the seams coming together in the center. You can't press open when everything comes together - you have to twirl.
Dunster, That is the reason I trimmed down some of the seams near the center. I still managed to press open and stay stitch to keep them open. (This block does not have all the seams meet in the middle, there is a space for the appliqued circle. Wish I had taken a pic, not handy with a camera! I need to make another and take pics I guess.
