Okay, how about the Seattle branch of the Modern Quilt Guild? I guarantee there will be plenty of young people there, and that seems fairly close.

I understand how you feel, at 43 I am one of the youngest members of my group, but over the years I have grown very close to these quilters and love them like sisters. I no longer see them as a bunch of little old ladies, but more as my very dear friends, and at times have been very thankful and grateful for their advice since they've been there, done that.
Give it a chance and time, and you will find your home.
