I met a friend through this board who lives really close to me and we decided to join the same guild. We are 40 and among the youngest in the guild. That being said, we made lots of friends through the guild. We went on a guild retreat and honestly I did not feel the age being a factor at all. We had a blast, especially when we sat down with a glass of vine at 2:00 am after burning the midnight oil and quilting for 16 hours straight. But, I do understand what you mean. Do look up a modern quilt guild in your area. That may be a good place to start, or make a convert out of a sewing challenged friend
