I bought one of the shorter ones when I first started collecting, and then I "found" one in the cabinet for the 403, and bought the machine because of it. OK,... I was already humming and hawing over the machine, and that sealed the deal.
Both of them live in featherweight cases now, which is probably part of why they're more collectible than the taller ones.
Tammi, I've been known to buy a machine for its accessories and not the machine. DH just shakes his head when I tell him why. I figure don't ask if you don't want to know.
FYI: all of mine are tall, too.
