The only cons I can see with a pe770 is that if you want a design larger than 5x7 you will have to split it. I don't have one, but brothers EM are very user friendly, easy to use right out of box, the stitching is beautiful on my brother but its not a pe770 but I am sure its comparable. I don't know how many editing features on a pe770 you will get. Its a good starter machine. It really depends on what you plans are for it. if you envision doing larger than a 5x7 I would save a little longer for one of the higher models. If your just using it for something simple like labels and small items it would be a good choice.
