Started a new quilt..

I have been working on this hexagon quilt today, my seam ripper is getting a lot of use. I am not use to dog ears...there has to be a trick in getting the seams lined up...I do get them done, but its hit or miss...and the miss means tearing out the thread and starting over..arrghh...I am liking how it is looking so far though.
