I never knew about starching fabrics, I am learning a lot today reading all the post. I wondered why my blocks would be all "cockeyed" not I know i have to add a new regiment to my process. I usually don't wash my fabrics before cutting, so does it matter if the fabric is washed or not when you startch it?
Came back to read other reply's. I do see many use the liquid Sta flo and mix 1-1. I haven't been using starch for quilting, but I am going to start. I do however, make my own starch to iron clothes and I make mine on the stove with box'd kind( not sure of name). I did notice a smell if not used soon enough, so to combat that, I make a thick batch, put it in a jar in fridge, and when I need starch I take some from jar, add to hot tap water and no smell.
