One of my quilts on the go require cross hatching I'm looking at it and would also appreciate any tips. My tip would have been to do it before the applique trapunto goes on. Bu it is too lat for that

i first did the appliqué. Then I did the trapunto using water solvable thread outlining the appliqué as close as possible to the appliqué. By using water solvable thread I did not have to worry about stitching on the appliqué. Then I trimmed the excess batting away. I then sandwiched the quilt. Next I used my built in walking foot on my Janome 7700 to stitch in the ditch the outer part of the squares. Then I drew lines with water disappearing marker my lines for the cross hatch. And then I began the FMQ the lines continuously using the appliqué and outer edge of the squares to connect to the next line making sure that I completely went around the appliqu.
