This is an Eight Pointed Star block made with HST. You can see that the star points have 2 parallel sides of one length and the other 2 sides are a different length.
On a LeMoyne Star (also eight pointed) all sides of the points are the same length, thus making a diamond. Sometimes the LeMoyne Star has the diamond divided down the longways center which of course leads to a piecing nightmare of 16 seams coming together in the middle.
