If you have polyester napkins, after sewing them together, use fusible batting by June Taylor. It will stick to the material and you won't have to pin. Then you can embellish with trim or stitching. If they are thinner material, try using flannel on the back [for body]. If there are spots on them, cover them with applique. Probably you will want to cut off the hems so the seams lay flat.
