This is an amazing quilt. But to the point about the borders. I think if I were to add borders and I planned to do multiples, I would make strips with each border you want, then add another etc. Not joining the ends. Then I would miter all the borders together. I am not sure that made sense. I just mean if you start with white, then go for a color then follow with white, I would sew these 3 colors together. Then attach to the quilt then miter all together. I also think if it is too heavy to manipulate through the machine, I would try doing it by hand. I did find that using a really big table--my dining table made a huge difference. I could put all my quilt on it and then the weight wasn't on the needle, or other places that made it impossible to work on.
