I created the design after looking at lots of quilts searching for "Asian panel quilt". Many are pretty much alike with the sashing between each panel or section. I based it on the size of the center panel first, then filled in around it. The sections around it are based on how big I wanted the fans, which are 8" blocks (I think). It has wide sections because I wanted something bed sized, not wall sized.
