& all of these have metal gears. My 158.17550 does a gorgeous chain stitch.
It came with a chain stitch needle plate insert & you take out the bobbin case & put in the chain stitch looper.)

Mine uses the needle plate insert in the 1st link of the previous post.
If your machine uses the needle plate insert in the 2nd link, this is the chain stitch set you need

I have several machines that have the throat plate that takes that part - I have not seen that part though. Maybe I should dig around.
