Well, this post has me thinking: I have a homemade painted wood table that my husband made and love it. At first the paint was fine and I had little trouble moving things around on. Now that both the paint and I have gotten a tad dull, moving stuff is more difficult. I'm going to try the silicone spray. If it doesn't work so well, I'll cover the entire table with the oilcloth.
