If you want to make a baby quilt you could use strips the width of the fabric, size of the strip cut to accentuate the design of the fabric. By the time you cut the selvedges off it would be about 42" wide. You could use as many different fabrics as you wanted to make your length, alternating the fabrics. I would label them #1 through however many fabrics that you use and sew the rows together in that order or you could reverse out in either direction from a center strip. I hope that made sense. This type of quilt is kinda like a designer's choice.
No its for a queen quilt, some of the materials I would need to cut by the width due to the design, if I were to cut the width and sew them together (the same pattern) to reach the length I need to cover the length of the queen size would it look bad- would seams be visable?
