Thank you all for your comments. I have a Singer 500 (hence the "King of the Rocketeers" signature) and they aren't known for being good to FMQ with, due to their horizontal bobbin. So, I'm experimenting with the walking foot. The blog shows quite a bit you can do with a walking foot.
GagaSmith - Yes, I did mark it. I used a Frixion pen. Next to washable school glue, it's one of my favorite notions. I calculated the size of the circle/peel/seed I wanted and ended up using a paper plate as a template - it was just the right size.
RedGarnett222 - I assume your "Flash Gordon" question is about my avatar, not the robot on the quilt.
Actually, that's a photo from the old Republic serial, "King of the Rocketmen," which I reference in my signature. It's too bad the avatar picture is so small, you can't see that I very carefully replaced his rocket backpack with a Singer Rocketeer. Here's a link to a larger photo.
