I hope that is clear. Lots of people don't do the old fashioned turn down at the top and bring over the pillows. Many people like to display their pretty pillow cases, which would be perfect for this issue.

It will be plenty long on the sides with the 112" and then the pillow cases or pillow shames (or both?) will make up the difference at the top.

That is one amazing quilt and the will be SO BLESSED to get it as a gift from you. What a wonderful thing to do for them

I didn't have to take it apart. I did just take off one of the edges and put the last row on. It didn't take long to take off the row. I did it while dinner was cooking and I needed to be in the kitchen area.
