You're correct that non-quilters don't appreciate the amount of work and talent that goes into a project, but our fellow quilters certainly do. I've always wished that I could be an artist - I can see something and think I could paint that, but what comes out of my fingers is not what I'm seeing in my head. With quilting, I can express myself artistically and what I see in my head actually comes off my sewing machine. How rewarding is that!
