Lara,

It's a 148.xxx or a 158.xxx. Looks to be a plain zig-zag and straight stitcher. The knob to the left of the width adjustment is to lock the width in place. These are good sturdy machines.
You have a 158.1760!? WOW I have only seen one other of these. I bought mine new in April 1978, it was on a close out sale at Sears, I guess it was last year's model. I have never even a tiny problem with it. It is still my go to machine. It goes get very vocal when I have been lax in oiling.

If you do get to Mary Jo's, wear good walking shoes and bring money. You can't get out of there without buying lots of fabric and notions. Awesome place. Great prices! I hope to get back to NC someday and visit Mary Jo's again.
