I found out this afternoon that a dear lady at our church is moving away to live with her son. She is 88 and a treasure to our congregation. There will be a reception for her tomorrow. So ... since we do what we do I looked frantically through my UFO's to find something suitable. I have a couple of finished quilts, but .. they weren't ready to leave. I found a finished top that would work and started to iron its backing (I try to hang finished tops on a coat hanger complete with backing.) But ... it just didn't feel right. She would like it, I'm sure, but ... it wasn't right. SO I went back to my little collection and this top that I've had hanging almost 2 years yelled out, "ME, ME, ME!" And it was right.

At 6:30 this evening I started ironing the backing, pieced it, spray basted it. Simple ditch and diagonal quilting, pull-over binding and ... just around 1 AM - done! I'm sorry I don't have a label, but I do have little tags that I can sew on that say "Made with tender loving care by ...." with my name embroidered on. That will do.
I'm so happy! This is perfect. She will love it. And I've been wondering for 2 years what on earth I was going to do with it! Now I know.
