Default Quilted jacket

I took a quilted jacket class at my LQS. The teacher was awesome. The class lasted 4 weeks, and we had homework every week. Not only did we learn to make a quilted jacket, but we learned several new quilting techniques in the process - techniques that I expect to actually use in future quilts. Each side and each sleeve are different. One sleeve has a cathedral window strip, the other has pointed tucks. Both were fun, different, and relatively easy to make. And all the fabrics came from my stash, except the lining (rayon - oh so slippery and hard to keep in place).

The teacher really encouraged us to embellish... other students bought beads, ribbons, shiny objects... but glitz is just not my style, so I fought against that part. In the spirit of trying to learn a new trick, I did find some neat buttons that I added here and there, and I do like them. (They're not glitzy.) Maybe I'll think more seriously about embellishment next time it comes up.
