One Christmas we had guests so I slept on the sofa. I had received a paint-by-number set as a gift and had started it. I left the picture on the dining room table to dry. Our cat, who also loved to play the piano, jumped up on the table, walked over my wet painting (lots of red paint), then jumped up on top of my chest. My mother came down the next morning, looked at me and started screaming. She thought someone had broken into the house and had cut my throat. That was the last time we ever left paint-by-number pictures on the table!
