I have been looking for patterns for a memory quilt also and what I have read about memory quilts is to choose a pattern that enhances the photos and isn't too busy that it distracts the eye from the photos. I'm thinking of using a star pattern with a solid square in the middle or a pattern alternating with blank squares (for photos) as the connecting blocks. Good luck.
