If you're doing Tennessee and like music, there's a lot of things to do in Nashville. And DH and I had a very interesting visit to the Hermitage, Pres. Andrew Johnson's homestead, there as well.
A trip on our bucket list is to do New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine and then go on up to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. We hope to do this in the next few years. We did spend 2 days on the Maine coast a number of years ago and have wanted to go back ever since.
