I thought the same thing about the tying and i tied right where you said, in the corners in the sashing which were about 6.5" apart all around. I just wanted to make sure that would be sufficient for other types of batting, too. thank you for your help!
LOVE your quilt - with regard to your comment above that you wanted to make sure this would be sufficient for other types of batting - PLEASE BE CAREFUL - each type or manufacturer has, on the batting, instructions for how close your quilting or in your case your ties need to be. Some cotton batting has to be quilted every 2 inches - so please check each package of batting and let those instructions be your guide.
