I don't know from the pics if Weasie did this as a QAYG or not but any info about this would be very welcome, i.e. how she joined the blocks.
I didn't use any specific pattern per say, other than using the crazy quilt template to cut the center focal pieces. I then cut strips 1 1/2" wide - WOF. Then just starting sewing strips around the center piece. After sewing each strip, press and trim before sewing the next strip. It may seem time consuming, but it gets rid of excess fabric/bulk. Also good exercise going to the ironing board after each strip!! The quilting was done after the top was finished and sandwiched. It was not a quilt as you go block. My blocks were 9 1/2" before sewing the sashing. Sashing was also 1 1/2" strips. I used Sulky embroidery thread (blue on top and gold in bobbin) for quilting. Hope this helps in knowing how this quilt was made. Once you do one, you'll really enjoy being creative with fabric selections and quilting stitches. This is the third time I did this type of quilt.
