You are thinking much more creative than I am. The quilt pattern included all the little quilts hanging from the clothes line. Your idea is great. Why not use orphan blocks if the size is in proportion. I think you have hit on something. Hope other quilters will see this and use some of those orphan blocks for patterns such as this one.
