Thanks for the clarifications, fellow QBers! I don't know what the going price might be around here, but I really don't need any more old machines. I have a 66 Lotus crank model that works, and a 66 Red Eye that shows some potential but needs lots of work. There's also a Harris #9 that I think probably sews okay, but the bobbin winder needs a new tire, and I haven't even taken the time to do that simple fix. I just like looking at it, and enjoy spotting whatever pretty old one might turn up on CL or in local shops, where they are almost always very high priced. The ones I actually bought were luckier finds in terms of price, but I've never seen any that I would call a steal, such as we read about on this board quite often. It's much more common to find rusty, dusty old junk, stripped free of anything that would come off, that someone thinks is their pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
