Coming from Holland... a critter gets to tulip story
33yrs ago -exactly! - we celebrated our son's 2d birthday with my cousins, aunts, and uncles in Holland. We visited Keukenhof [the infamous tulip gardens] and bought a couple hundred [ahem....] tulip bulbs of very special varieties. We had them shipped home and planted them in containers because we were going to move to a bigger house. Once we moved here, we transferred most of them to the ground. Big mistake!! the area was not totally developed.... hundreds of homes but we were just one house from the end of the developed area at the time. Sheep grazed behind us, occasional cayote, rattler, thousands of rabbits, few field mice, raccoons, other rodents... ALL loved the tulip bulbs
We provided them with exotic delicacies
Maybe someday we can return....
