The freezer paper we have here in the states does have a plastic side to it that will temporarily adhere to fabric when ironed. The other side is paper and you can write on it. It's also called butcher paper, as it was originally designed for wrapping meat. The plastic (water-proofed) side goes up, the meat gets plopped on top, then the paper is wrapped around the meat and taped, and the butcher then writes the weight and/or price on the outside of the package.
