Hello Debbie,

I use my 1927 Singer 99K hand machine for straight line quilting. I never use a walking foot. Try increasing the pressure on the presser bar and use a hinged regular foot. You might be surprised by the results.

I also use the same machine for outline quilting around appliqué, but for this I use a hinged cording foot. You can see pictures on this thread. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...g-t190439.html
