I got a free Necchi, from the late 60s and the lady said it didn't work very well. The bobbin was a class 66 and it had miles of thread wrapped around the inside of the hand wheel; also lots of thread wrapped around the bobbin hook, there was so much lint under the needle plate that the feed dogs didn't move very well.
Once I freed it from its thread prison, put the correct bobbin in and oiled it. The machine took off like a race horse.
It now belongs to my daughter's friend, he was so happy to have a machine that didn't come from WM and not sew very well.
