The issue is NOW I have to deal with the previous owners idea of an "upgrade".. The deck and the rim of the handwheel have been painted VERY BADLY with gold paint... yes, gold.... Dull, "antiqued" gold... ewwww

I have tried "goo gone", "goof off", denatured alcohol, and graffiti remover. All on the same spot with no apparent effect...

I can see that there is still black under it... may even be decals,, who knows...

I know I can take it apart and strip it and repaint it, but I am looking for OTHER options....

Thoughts?
Steve you can try house old ammonia but try in a small area first for a test. If this does not work try acetone but be very careful and use Q-tips so no to cut to deep. I have had good results with this but it does not always work. Good luck
