Hi, I think your too critical with your seams showing. I wouldn't worry about that at all. The quilt looks beautiful.
I have had that problem at times too and Kona cloth doesn't show so use that next time and you really can't do anything about it now. Believe me your gift will be appreciated very much and no one else will see what you do. Beautiful work, be proud. GOOD JOB...
