Question Stained Glass Butterfly Quilt

I have bought the, "Three Swans Studios - Butterfly TSS 2020," stained glass applique pattern. With so many tiny pieces I really want to choose the correct fabrics. I'm in love with the japanese imperial metalic blue floral fabric and want to use it in the actual butterfly. But I'm having a hard time finding fabrics that will give me that "light behind" feeling that I want for the quilt. The best way I can describe it is if you look on their website the center of the butterfly is done with some kind of fabric that really looks as if the light is behind it shinning through. The yellow green that is used also has this affect.

Would you say this is caused by fussy cutting the fabrics so a lighter shade is at the center and a darker fabric is toward the outside of each piece? Or is it just the affect of yellow in the piece? Or should I be looking for fabrics that have a watercolor feel to them?

I would really appreciate your input.
