First of all do you want to hand or machine quilt your quilt? The picture you posted looks like it could be machine quilted, but I am not sure. Anyway, if you have never quilted before, I suggest you find a class that teaches either machine quilting or hand quilting, depending on which you are interested in, and take it. Make a small practice pieces before quilting your quilt.
